Vaani Terms & Conditions

1. Operator and service

Vaani is operated by Lohit Kumar and is a voice-typing assistant for Android. Legal notices and privacy requests can be sent to lohitkumardm@gmail.com.

2. Eligibility and account security

You must meet the minimum age required by the law where you live and be authorised to use the phone number you provide. You are responsible for your device, OTPs and account activity. Never share an OTP or attempt to access another person's account. Tell us promptly if you believe an account or device is compromised.

3. Consent and privacy

Phone verification is conditional on affirmative consent to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy explains the data Vaani collects, AI and advertising providers, permissions, retention, withdrawal and deletion. You can withdraw consent by stopping use, revoking permissions, contacting us or deleting your account, although features depending on that consent may stop working.

4. Permissions and product actions

Vaani may request microphone, display-over-other-apps, accessibility, notification, battery and related Android access for the features you choose. Android controls these permissions. Vaani records or processes speech only after an initiated product action, and insertion, copying or sharing requires your explicit action. You are responsible for checking the destination app and message before sending.

5. Your content

You retain rights in speech, text and other material you submit. You give Vaani and its service providers a limited, temporary permission to host, transmit, process and transform that material only to provide the requested feature, protect the service, enforce limits, and meet legal or security obligations. Do not submit content you are not allowed to process or share.

6. AI output and reliability

AI transcription, rewriting and translation can be wrong, incomplete, offensive or unsuitable, particularly with noise, accents, mixed languages, names and numbers. Output is not professional advice and must not be used as the sole basis for emergency, medical, legal, financial, employment or safety-critical decisions. Always review AI-generated, transcribed or translated text before sending, inserting, copying or sharing it — you remain responsible for what you choose to send. Vaani never automatically sends a message on your behalf: inserting text into another app's text field, copying it, or sharing it always requires your own explicit action, and Vaani does not press Send or submit anything for you. Vaani does not promise uninterrupted availability, accuracy or preservation of any output.

7. Acceptable use

• Use Vaani lawfully and only for content you have the right to record, process and use.
• Do not abuse, reverse engineer, probe, overload or interfere with Vaani, Firebase, Google, AdMob or another user's account.
• Do not use Vaani to create, transmit or insert unlawful, fraudulent, threatening, defamatory, discriminatory or infringing content.
• Do not bypass usage limits, OTP controls, access controls or safety restrictions.

8. Third-party services and advertising

Vaani relies on Firebase, Google Gemini, Google AdMob and other infrastructure providers. Their terms, privacy practices, availability and regional restrictions may apply separately. Home and History may display AdMob banner ads. Ad choices are handled through the available Google consent controls and Vaani Settings. Vaani does not sell dictated content or phone numbers.

9. Plans, limits and payments

Vaani may apply free-use, plan or feature limits shown in the app. Usage enforcement records are counts and plan/date metadata only; they do not include your dictated words, transcripts, generated messages or inserted text. No payment is authorised merely by accepting these Terms.

Vaani Pro is currently offered as an optional paid subscription. It is billed and managed entirely through Google Play, not directly by Vaani: the price, billing cycle and renewal terms are shown by Google Play at the time of purchase, and your subscription renews automatically according to the terms Google Play shows you unless you cancel it. You can manage, change or cancel your subscription at any time through Google Play (Play Store → Payments & subscriptions). Refunds, billing disputes and payment-method issues are handled under Google Play's own policies, not by Vaani directly. Free usage limits may continue to apply alongside or instead of Pro depending on the feature. Vaani Pro's included features, limits and pricing may change reasonably over time; where required, changes will be shown in the app or at Google Play before they take effect for a new purchase or renewal.

10. History, deletion and local data

History is optional and off by default. If enabled, results may remain on your device until you delete them or disable History. You can delete your account in Settings or through the external account-deletion page. Server account records are handled as described in the Privacy Policy; deleting the server account does not automatically erase local device data.

11. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Vaani at any time. We may limit, suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, non-payment, or a material breach of these Terms. We may also discontinue a feature or the service. Account deletion remains available after termination where applicable.

12. Ownership and feedback

Vaani, its brand, software, design and original content belong to Vaani or its licensors. You receive a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use the app while these Terms apply. Suggestions you send may be used to improve Vaani without payment or confidentiality obligations, unless we agree otherwise in writing.

13. Disclaimers and liability

To the extent permitted by law, Vaani is provided “as available” without warranties that it will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free or suitable for a particular purpose. Nothing here excludes consumer rights, privacy rights or other remedies that cannot legally be excluded. To the extent permitted by law, Vaani is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, loss caused by unreviewed AI output, or a destination app's handling of inserted content. You agree to use reasonable care and not expose Vaani to claims caused by your unlawful content or misuse.

14. Governing law and complaints

These Terms are intended to be governed by the laws of India, subject to mandatory protections in the country where you live. Before starting a formal dispute, please contact lohitkumardm@gmail.com with the account phone number, issue and requested resolution. Nothing prevents you from using a regulator, tribunal or consumer remedy available by law.

15. Changes

We may update these Terms when the app, providers or law changes. We will publish the new version and effective date here and may show material changes in the app. Continued use after the effective date means acceptance of the updated Terms; if you disagree, stop using Vaani and delete your account.
